DIY Intaglio Printmaking (7/21& 7/28 2024)
Learn how to make drypoint intaglio prints using easily accessible materials, no printing press required! In this two-part class we will cover designing a successful print, scribing it into the surface of the plexi, and printing a small edition in black ink on white paper using a rolling pin. At the end of class there will be an optional print exchange as well!
The first session will be one hour online and cover design and drypoint basics. The second session a week later will be two hours in person at The Toolbox Collective and will cover making your own dauber, inking and printing your Plexi drypoints using a rolling pin. You should plan on finishing inscribing their design into the Plexi during the week between classes.
You can purchase a kit ahead of time that will include everything needed for the process aside from ink, otherwise you are welcome to source your own tools and supplies. Kits will be available for pickup one week before the first session.
Kit includes:
4x6x0.02" plexi
